TEMPUS PROJECT - UNIVERSITIES KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER FOR SUSTAINABLE GROWTH

Aim
The aim of the project is to increase the capacity of Russian universities for income generation by developing a Knowledge Transfer (KT) culture. This initiative consists in adapting recent European work in the consolidation of knowledge creation and knowledge transfer to the Volga Federal District.

The adoption of KT strategies in EU universities has led to the increased demand for specialists in this field and to the development of programmes to train a new cadre of KT professional. The Russian Government, on the other hand, recognizes the importance for the new Russian economy of innovative universities and KT as an integral part for an innovative style of university

Goal
  • Creating a KT strategy, systems and culture in the Volga Federal District
Activities
  • Preparation of a strategic plan for KT for the University of Nizhini Novgorod (UNN)
    • Workshops for senior managers
    • Survey of alternative models of KT
    • Writing a strategic KT plan specific for UNN and relevant to its environment
    • Adoption of the KT strategic plan by the UNN Council in the third year of the project
  • Creation of a centre of Excellence in Knowledge Transfer in UNN
    • Coordination of existing personnel, units, and activities with embryonic KT potential
    • Manage the commercial interface between the University and external enterprises
    • Developing a Continuing Professional Development programme (CPD) of training
  • Development of a culture of innovation in UNN
    • Training targeted to a wide range of  university personnel (Five consequential training seminars  in different consortium members countries - presentation of the best European policies and practices in KT
  • Development of  CPD  Programme designed to create a cadre of KT professionals
    • Programme based on key roles for KT practice as identified by leading European and member state KT associations
    • Development of a relevant curriculum
    • Four new syllabi relevant to the skills needed developed
    • Identification of KT Champions
    • Programme offered in the future to other universities in Russia
