Role of ESMU
Benchmarking
- Working with the institutes involved, educational experts and all partners and stakeholders of the Network
- Drafting on report on the basis of the benchmarking investigation
Aim
The project aims at mapping the various ways Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Europe take on the challenge of integrating the combination of education and applied research in the curricula of the New European professional.
The project will be developed in close consultation with a user-group from European regions, SMEs and research performing institutes to guarantee that all relevant stakeholders will be united to discuss improvement of the quality and alignment of education to the demands from new professional practice and to develop joint initiatives.
Activities
- Stage 1
- Inquiry into the ways European UAS adjust their education programmes to the needs of the new professional in the knowledge society
- International Conference to present the results of the above inquiry, to share best practices and discuss bottlenecks
- Stage 2 (Based on the outcomes of the inquiry)
- Expert meetings
- Study visits
- Benchmarking exercise on the actions necessary to keep education up-to-date and in line with professional practice
- Final event bringing together a representative group of all participants in the meetings, study visits and potential new partners
Support activities
- Website functioning as information desk for planned activities and the progress of the project, developments, reports and findings (after meetings and study visits)
- Digital exchange forum expanding the existing Network’s website
