Aims
DEAN is a European network of Deans of Faculties and academic leaders. It is a unique forum for leading European decision-makers facing the demands of today's higher education system and a key player in the rapidly changing European system of higher education.

Activities
Exchange of information and good practice - Sharing experiences
DEAN organises annual conferences on key issues affecting the strategic management of faculties.
DEAN promotes training and professional development for acting and newly appointed/elected deans and academic managers. Issues such as leadership, decision-making, participation and empowerment, marketing strategies, strategy for internationalisation and multidisciplinarity are the focus of activities.

Networking between members also takes place electronically. Members receive a newsletter three times a year with information on new activities and policy development at EU level.

- Associate and Vice-Deans
- Academic managers, (associate) vice-deans, Heads of departments with executive functions

DEAN is co chaired by Dr. Flemming G. Andersen, DEAN of the Humanities, University of Southern Denmark, and Prof. Geoffrey Channon, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, University of the West of England.
