The “Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin” is the institution of the unified medical schools and hospitals of the Free University and the Humboldt University in Berlin. The fusion in 2003 created the largest school of medicine and university hospital system in Europe.
Project partners:
The project addresses a major aspect of the modernisation agenda for medical faculties across Europe: study programmes and employability. The overall aim is to find out how European universities can best adapt their curricula in order for future doctors to be better prepared for the challenges of the 21th century

- Benchmarking exercise among a small group of medical faculties from across Europe (project partners)
- Production and circulation of a detailed questionnaire
- Compilation of detailed assessment reports and scores
- Two Workshops
- The first one, shortly after the publication of the assessment reports
- The second one, one year after the first exercise
- Dissemination of the results and outcomes of the exercise
- Publication on identified best practices
- A series of articles in targeted medical education and professional publications
- Final conference
- Questionnaire and handbook (benchmarking)
