European strategies for European universities

Europe’s competitiveness lies in its capacity to innovate and transfer knowledge to society for economic growth.  More than ever before, the triangle of education, research and innovation is crucial.  Higher Education Institutions have a key role to play in the Lisbon Agenda set by the European Union.

The richness of European Higher Education lies in the diversity of its HEIs, but to support the major challenges, European universities must modernize their governance, management and mode of operation.  The increasing competition in the sector both at European and international levels demands quality, leadership and professionalisation.

By offering management development programmes, benchmarking exercises and a learning environment on good management practices,  ESMU brings valuable support to European universities striving to further their strategic developments.

Our strong European values, our drive for continuous improvement and constant exploration of new areas to promote excellence in our universities are at the core of all our activities.
